Our very own President and CEO, Dr. Terrie Suica-Reed is 1 of 7 finalist for the Innovation in Education Award to be given at the 2022 There Rivers Educational Technology Conference. The Three Rivers Educational Technology Conference (TRETC) is an exciting professional development opportunity to advance the integration of educational technology for teachers, K-12 administrators, industry experts, and higher education decision makers in the Pittsburgh region.
Educational technology has proven to allow for strong connections between students, educators, families, and communities. This has never been truer than over the past school year. Showcasing how technology can enhance learning environments by pushing boundaries, integrating resources, enabling inclusiveness, and forming strong bonds that touch each part of a student’s life is the focus of this year’s TRETC.
In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr, Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’
Each of the 7 finalist exemplifies a true dedication to creating opportunities for youth in educational technology by offering unique programming and innovation. Through programming at PHASE 4 Learning Center and the partnerships established within the community, Dr. Suica-Reed has worked with over 70 school districts to ensure that youth have exposure to careers in the STEM field by having a comprehensive Career Pathways/Workforce Development program that offers a bridge to success through mentoring, work readiness and internships. This has allowed students to have access to state-of-the art technology that helps level the playing field by creating TEQuity for teens who otherwise might have restricted, limited or sometimes nonexistent access to technology that others have readily available.
