Laughter With a Purpose:

Yinzer Comedy Night Brings Joy & Hope to Pittsburgh

There’s something magical that happens when a community comes together to laugh, and even more so when that laughter supports a powerful cause. On Friday, August 1st, The Cellar at The Original Pittsburgh Winery hosted a night that promises just that: “Yinzer Comedy Night – A Night of Comedy for a Cause.”

This unforgettable evening featured some of Pittsburgh’s most beloved talent, including the legendary Jim Krenn, whose unmistakable voice and sharp wit have made him a household name. He was joined by special guest rock comic Mark Eddie, who brought his signature musical hilarity to the stage, and KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert, who served as the emcee for the evening.

But what made this night even more special was the reason behind it.

Proceeds Benefit Phase 4 Learning Center, Inc.

Phase 4 Learning Center is more than just a nonprofit. It’s a lifeline for young people statewide, based in Pittsburgh, especially those who have been underserved, overlooked, or left behind. Their mission is to help at-risk and disadvantaged individuals earn their high school diplomas and chart a course toward a brighter future, whether that means college, a career, or military service.

Phase 4 doesn’t just provide education; it provides hope, structure, and opportunity. And in a world where so many feel stuck or unseen, that kind of support is life changing.

Why This Night Mattered

It’s easy to forget the power of laughter when we’re surrounded by headlines full of hardship. But laughter heals. It connects. It lifts the weight of the world, even if just for a night. And when it’s combined with purpose, it becomes a force for real change.

This event wasn’t  just a night out. It was a chance to give back. A chance to support youth who are fighting for their second chance. A chance to celebrate what it means to be from Pittsburgh, a city built on grit, heart, and community.
